    Gazelle Risk Solutions Shines Bright for Candlelighters: Team Spirit, Creativity, and Charity at Its Best

    Gazelle Risk Solutions is proving that when it comes to giving back, the insurance industry’s heart beats strong. From gin raffles and pink wristbands to marathons, triathlons, abseils, and now even tattoos, the Gazelle team has shown extraordinary commitment to raising funds and awareness for Candlelighters Trust, the Yorkshire children’s cancer charity that provides vital emotional, practical, and financial support to families facing childhood cancer.

What started as small-scale initiatives has evolved into a company-wide mission—bringing together clients, colleagues, and the wider insurance community to make a meaningful impact.

    BIBA Wristbands: Retro Style for a Worthy Cause

    At this year’s BIBA 2025 Conference, Gazelle took a creative approach to fundraising with the launch of their retro-style charity wristbands in aid of Candlelighters. For a small donation, attendees received a wristband and the chance to win a bottle of Gazelle’s exclusive gin or rum.

    The response was overwhelming.

    At BIBA alone, the Gazelle team raised over £500, helping push their total to £3,563 raised so far. Winners of the prize draw were announced following the event—just one of many ways the company keeps their supporters engaged and appreciated.

    As one post read, “We want to spread the word for Candlelighters’ terrific work and raise some much-needed funds… Thank you for your continued efforts to assist this wonderful cause.”

    Going Pink for Candlelighters

    Gazelle also proudly joined Candlelighters’ annual “Pink It Up” campaign, turning their offices, branding, and social media feeds bright pink for a week of themed fundraising and awareness. From bake sales to challenges, the team went all-in, raising over £1,000 through wristband sales alone.

    “Our team spirit and community really came alive,” said one Gazelle representative. “Every pink post, every donation, and every wristband sold helps Candlelighters bring light to families during their darkest times.”

    Team Challenges: Fearless Fundraisers

    The team’s creativity and courage have been on full display in recent months, with individuals taking on personal challenges that go far beyond the office.

    • Kat Hicks walked 150 miles in September, raising £345 and inspiring others to join her journey for Candlelighters.
    • Fran McDonnell took on the Great Leeds Walk, completing over 27 miles in scorching summer heat and raising £670, while Team Gazelle collectively surpassed £1,000 for the event.
    • Ella Whiteley and Emma Trimnell—with some support from Ella’s son Wilf—completed the Windermere Sprint Triathlon, adding £1,029 to the total with their energetic efforts.
    • Stuart Wild conquered his fear of heights by abseiling from the top of Holy Trinity Church in Skipton, raising over £150 for Candlelighters.

    And Next Up… The MD Faces His Biggest Fear

    Never one to shy away from a challenge, Gazelle’s Managing Director Gary Williamson is preparing to face his biggest fear—needles—by getting a tattoo for charity!

    As part of the “Inked for Impact” campaign, Gary is putting his skin on the line to raise even more money for Candlelighters. But in true Gazelle fashion, there’s a twist — the tattoo design will be chosen by the donors themselves.

    Supporters can vote for the design when they donate via the official JustGiving link, with options ranging from the Gazelle logo and Candlelighters emblem to something a little more daring.

    “Gary’s nervous. We’re not,” joked the team. “It’s all in good fun and for an incredible cause. Every vote—and every donation—helps Candlelighters continue their life-changing work for children and families affected by cancer.”
